Chair of theory and practice of translation

 The chair is headed by the candidate of philology science Nataliya Mykolayivna Rudnytzka. The chair trains qualified specialists in «Translation / Interpretation» specialty (philology training branch, license of MES of Ukraine AB № 298007, dated 26.10.2005).

Students of the chair have a fluent command of two foreign languages (third foreign language is optional). The chair trains translators from English, French German, Spanish languages, capable to provide oral and written communication in various spheres of economy, science and culture; use modern methods of information collecting and processing; teach foreign languages.

 The chair professors’ staff uses innovation training methods, projects method, interactive methods of cross-cultural communication, drama technique. «Translation / interpretation» specialty students take part in international programs; linguists, well-known translators of Ukraine give master-classes to the students. It allows would-be translators to develop and improve their language and communicative skills. The chair regularly organizes international and all-Ukrainian scientific practical conferences, devoted to problems of cross-cultural communication. One of the traditions of would-be translators is the communication with foreign guests during International European Languages Day celebration.
