Musical department

The department head is Sergey Petrovich Turneev, the member of Ukrainian National Union of composers, the Honored Art Worker of Ukraine.

Musical department provides main theoretical training in the sphere of musical science and develops natural talent of a person.

Musical department trains musicians, who can play orchestra, string, bass and percussion instruments; as well as pianists, sound directors, specialists in history and theory of music, composers, conductors of chorus bands, singers-specialists in academic, folk, variety vocal (license of MES of Ukraine AB №159982 dated 28.11.2006).

There are merited and honored cultural workers of Ukraine, international level art history and theory specialists, professors of foreign conservatory among professors. Students take part in concert activity of youth symphonic orchestra, chamber orchestra «Serenada», chamber choir «Alma mater», orchestra of folk instruments «Folk music», bass and jazz orchestra, they also train singing and sound engineering in professional recording studio, located in the building of the institute.

Department consists of the following chairs:

-musical theory and composition chair;

-orchestra instruments chair;

-vocal and orchestra conducting chair;

-piano chair;

-musical variety art chair.

 

The music theory and composition chair

 

The music theory and composition chair trains highly qualified specialists on «Musical art» and «Musicology and composition» specialty. The chair head is Sergey Petrovich Turneev - the member of Ukrainian National Union of composers, the Honored Art Worker of Ukraine.

The chair trains artists of chamber ensemble, concertmasters, conductors, musicologists, composers and teachers for further work at Philharmonic Societies, music-drama theatres, musical schools, esthetic education schools. Musicians attend master-classes of famous exponents and professors – E. Viurdinger, the professor of Vienna Performance Art University; S.I. Riabov, associate professor of National music academy of Ukraine after P.I. Tchaikovsky; L.V. Shapovalova - art studies candidate, associate professor of Kharkov Arts University after I.L. Kotlyarevsky.

 

The chair professors assist actively at international, all-Ukrainian and regional scientific – practical conferences; organize concerts of musical department students and professors.

 

The vocal and orchestra conducting chair

 

The vocal and orchestra conducting chair is headed by the Honored Culture Worker of Ukraine - Natalia Aleksandrovna Knyazeva.

The Chair provides the training of opera singers, chamber singers, teachers of vocal, conductors and combines three specializations- «Academic vocal», «Folk vocal», «Orchestra conducting».

The professors’ staff works out of scientific methodical complexes in specialized disciplines (solo and chamber-concert singing, opera class, opera studio, teaching and exponential practical training). Educational programs are based on the modern and classical methods.

The best traditions of academic musical education, home and foreign methods

(Author’s vocal methodic by Donets-Tesseyer, O. N. Strijova) are used to teach students. The mastering of vocal technique is carried out in the opera studio, directed by the Honored Art Worker of Ukraine V. P. Trubin-Leonov. The independent work of students is aimed to learn Italian, French, German, Russian and Ukrainian vocal traditions.

Young students take active part in concerts organized by «The Creative Centre «Krasna plosha, 7», in international and all-Ukrainian contests and festivals, becoming laureates and diplomats. The vocal and orchestra conducting chair collaborates closely with Lugansk regional Philharmonic Society.

 

The Chair of Orchestra Instruments

 

The Chair of Orchestra Instruments trains specialists on the following specializations: «Orchestra brass and percussion instruments», «Folk instruments», «Orchestra string instruments». The teachers of musical instruments and the exponents are also trained in the chair. The chair head is Valentina Vasilyevna Petrik – the professor.

The professors’ staff of the chair implements innovative methods of education, works out new methodical reference books, masters the modern repertoire. Students attend the master-classes, conducted by leading professors: V. Murza- professor (button accordion, Ukraine), V. Kachmarchik- an assistant professor (Ukraine), U. Tkanov- professor (viola, Russia), Ch. Shwimberg- professor (clarinet, Belgium).

Chair professors constantly assist at the work of international, all-Ukrainian and regional scientific-practical conferences, seminars, round- tables; organize and conduct all-Ukrainian conferences devoted to musical art issues.

 

The chair of musical variety art

 

The chair of musical variety art. The chair trains qualified specialists on the following specializations: «Variety vocal», «Sound engineering», «Musical variety art» (Instrumentalists). The chair is headed by Honored Art Worker of Ukraine – Yuriy Yakovych Dersky – the professor.

The chair professors’ use as their own vocal teaching methods, as methods of vocalists, phoniatrists, well- known in the world, when training the students. Due to this, future signers train their skills to master their voice and variety performance manner freely. In order to study musical industry international experience, the chair organizes mega - shows, organizes and conducts well -known foreign bands concerts.

The students of all chair specializations train themselves at professional sound record studio, located at institute premises. The aforementioned studio is the base for educational process. Students make active concert activities in frames of institute art projects; take part at vocal workmanship contests and festivals; collaborate with professional sound directors; work at sound record studios, which give them the possibility to improve their exponential skills. Lot of them created students and professional bands, such as «Metropoli 10», «Sny», folk ensemble «Sobor».

 

The piano chair

 

The piano chair is headed by Iryna Oleksiyvna Yenenko. The chair trains specialists at «Piano» specialization. Individual approach of chair professors- musicians, who trained a great amount of international and all- Ukrainian piano contests laureates and award winners, allows educate a new galaxy of piano music exponents.
