Fine Arts department

The Fine Arts department trains on the specializations «Easel painting», «Art and computer graphics», «Stage design, clothes designing for theatre plays and cinema» and «Art studies» (license of MES of Ukraine АВ № 159982, dated 28.11.2006).

The department is headed by art historian, the associate professor - Oleksandr Anatolyiovych Pokladov.

Educational program is built on a realistic basis by taking into account the best achievements of national and classical art of world wide academic schools.

The main form of specialized knowledge acquisition is students’ practical training at educational creative workshops, computer classes, guided by experienced specialists.

During their studies, students master the secrets of various genres images creation, go to planners to picturesque places of Lugansk region, south shore of Krimea, have practical training at publishing companies and printing agencies, advertising agencies, TV, Internet companies, landscape- architecture structures, have the possibility to train at professional models school.

The department organizes actively exhibitions of creative works of professors and students and is one of the organizers of all- Ukrainian painting contest, called «Srybny Shtryh».

The department includes the following chairs:

  • easel painting chair;

  • art and computer graphics chair;

  • cloths designing chair.

 

The chair of easel painting

 

The chair of easel painting trains the artists, who would have been capable to raise by their work the level of Ukrainian Fine Arts to the world one. The chair is headed by the member of National artists union of Ukraine Vladimir Vladimirovich Kozlov.

The academic education aim is to train, first, the specialist with basic education (bachelor), who is capable to understand art forms and displays, to embody color and composition solutions at drawing and painting.

Furthermore, during the 5th year of education, the aim is to provide student with the possibility to interpret life facts and events freely and from the humanistic point of view, develop individual style, master creative broadness, think in images and do creative works.

Educational programs, scientific- methodic developments are based on Ukrainian realistic school principles. Easel painting is the main educational method. It consists of thorough nature implementation by means of drawing and painting, as well as of tasks complication in order to train students for independent tasks performance in this or that sphere of Fine Arts.

Lot of artists’ generations has been educated on the traditional method basis, which provides high professionalism on the level of empirical creativity. New professors’ staff brings new ideas to the educational process. Professors combine methodological achievements and the possibilities for individual expression. Students’ practical classes are conducted at educational - creative workshops, methodological laboratory of plastic anatomy and drawing, and as for educational practical training – it is being conducted at the South shore of Crimea and picturesque places of Lugansk region, exactly at Parkhomenko village, founded by Zaporozhye kozaks.

The chair pays great attention to students’ mental outlook enlargement, their general education knowledge enlargement. Together with their professors, students visit artistic exhibitions and museums of Lugansk, Pheodosyia, Kiev, Saint- Petersburg and leading educational establishments of artistic profile in Kiev, Kharkov, Russia. The chair professors and students exhibit their works on the exhibitions of different levels. Their works had been exhibited at Washington D.C., Ukrainian National Museum (Chicago, USA); in personal and collective exhibitions in Kiev, Donetsk and Lugansk.

 

The art and computer graphics chair

 

The art and computer graphics chair successively trains to - be specialists in computer design area, relying on classical educational traditions. This institute department is headed by the professor - Tetyana Olexandrivna Shvydka.

The chair professors’ staff successfully solves problems of art and general humanities education integration tasks. The main work method is the combination of basic classical and variative components of artistic and aesthetics education. Professors use different author educational programs, the classes are conducted in lecture – halls, equipped with modern powerful computers.

Students creative potential development gives its’ feedback; they participate in contests, competitions and exhibitions of institute and national level. In order to develop students’ creative capacities and prepare them for professional life, the chair conducts educational process in two directions: technological and artistic- aesthetic one, Students have in equal amount such disciplines as: the History of Art, Web – design, graphics, software and hardware, fonts and composition. During their studies, students are involved at the development and production of advertising printing materials and institute official site.

 

The chair of clothes designing

 

The chair of clothes designing trains skilled specialists at «Stage design, clothes designing for theatre plays and cinema». The Chair is headed by Marina Victorivna Voronina.

Under the guidance of skilled artists and fashion designers, students study cloths construction and designing modes, computer, peculiarities of work with material, as well as fabric artistic painting technique, costume theory and history, academic painting and graphics, architectonics.

The chair of clothes designing actively implements innovation techniques. Test papers and questions, aiming to develop students’ logical thinking, have been worked out almost for all specialized disciplines. Professors also work at test cross – words development on such subjects as architectonics and dress design. The chair has students’ scientific group.

Under the tutors’ guidance, students of academic groups visit Luhansk’ museums and artists’ exhibition. Every year the best students of the chair visit leading designers’ master – classes, fashion shows at fashion week in Donetsk, Kyiv and Moscow. Such visits visually stimulate their attitude toward studies. During their studies, the chair students have the possibility to realize their ideas and images in fabrics and materials; create individual cloths models; apply artistic culture traditions and current fashion tendencies; master skillfully graphics and color reproduction. The best works of would – be designers are chosen for demonstration at regional exhibitions and for Open Day, stage costumes for LSICA theatre and Opera studios characters.
